In this blog I'm going to talk about my favorite series: The Simpsons! :)
The Simpsons are for my the greatest series ever, but unfortunately in 30 years the greatest TV program in the world, became just another Sitcom (Situation Comedy).
I love the Simpsons but I have to admit that this current Simpsons are NOT like the good ol' Simpsons, and I'm not talking of the early days of The Simpsons in The Tracy Ullman Show, No, I'm talking about the golden era of the Simpsons, the 90's Simpsons.
"you'll have to speak up, I'm wearing a towel"
I love this Simpsons because besides being a comedy show it was not stupid or cartoonish, it had the Laughter, the Realism and the Heart. This three components represented the character of the three producers of the show James L. Brooks, Matt Groening and Sam Simon. And their perfect mix made the Simpsons of the 90's what they were.

If you see different Simpsons episodes you can notice the producers' hand in the style of the episode.
There are some comic and funny episodes like "Homer goes to College" when Homer attends to the Springfield University but he is totally incompetent that almost produced a meltdown.
"I'm so Smart! I'm so Smart! S-M-R-T... I mean S-M-A-R-T"
"Excuse me, Professor Braniac, but I worked in a Nuclear Power Plant for 10 years and errr... I think I know how a proton accelerator works"
Homer goes to College
Other more realistic kind of episodes like "Bart gets an F", where you can feel his suffering failing the 2nd grade and that's something that can happen to anyone.
Bart gets an F
And other more emotive and/or sad episodes like the Mona Simpsons saga (she debuted in "Mother Simpson), where you can see a very beautiful relationship between Homer and his hippy mother, and the sad ending that I'm not going to spoil (too much).
Mother Simpson
This is what made The Simpsons distinguish from the other 90's shows like Family Guy or South Park that have a more rude humor. And this is what made the Simpsons so great.
"You have AIDS" from Family Guy
Personally I believe that the greatness of the Simpsons was from the 3rd season (1991) to the 13th season (2001), and my favorite episode comes from the 13th season indeed and is "Weekend at Burnsie's" where Homer became the Executive Vice-President of the Power Plant because his excessive laughing caused by smoking medical marijuana is very useful to Mr. Burns in his shareholders meeting. Homer smokes because a group of crows that wounded his eyes.
You may have not hear about this episode before because it was censored in Latin America because of the using of marijuana.

Some people may say that the current time Simpsons are not good, and I agree a bit because they lost their Reality and Heart and became just another comedy show, with a more stupid Homer and Bart and a more annoying Lisa and Marge.
Some may say The Simpsons are dead but there's where I disagree, because even in their most recent seasons the have come up with animated masterpieces like Barthood, an episode where you can discover why Bart is a bad kid, an episode that have the three components for the glory Laughter, Realism and Heart.

one of the best things of the simpsons is how a person like Homer it's working in a nuclear center hahahaha
